Rosemary Wade, 88, of Burlington, died at 6:00 PM Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Great River Klein Center.
Born April 2, 1929, in Burlington, Iowa, she was the daughter of William R. and Clara Keller Hamilton. On February 17, 1949, she married Warren J. Wade in Burlington Iowa. He died August 24, 1990
Rosemary worked at National Research and in communications at IAAP for many years.
She was a member of SS. John & Paul Catholic Church. She was a genealogist, and enjoyed bingo, knitting bootie socks, fishing, sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, watching John Wayne movies, collecting scarecrows, and cooking spaghetti and angel food cake. She was a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan.
Survivors include one daughter, Teresa (Mark) Arnold of Burlington; one grandson, Jacob (Jennifer) Arnold of Burlington; one granddaughter, Amanda (Chris) Johnson of Burlington; five great-grandchildren, Madlyn Arnold, Ava Arnold, Eli Johnson, Ren Arnold, Lillian Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marion Orth; and one infant brother.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends following a 5:00 PM Rosary Service until 7:00 PM Monday, April 17, 2017, at Prugh's Chapel.
The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection for Rosemary Wade will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz as the Celebrant. Music will be provided by the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the St. John Cafeteria following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for St. John's Catholic Church, St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry, and Great River Hospice.
