Lloyd Jack Stewart , 82, of Burlington, died at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.
Born May 6, 1935, in Burlington, he was the son of Lloyd William and Frances Manley Stewart. On May 8, 1998, he married Geneva Huss Loyd at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.
Lloyd worked for Antenna Craft.
He was a U.S. Veteran, serving in the Army for four years, and a Shore Patrolman in the Navy for 16 years.
Lloyd enjoyed fishing, bingo, shooting pool, bowling, going to the casino, hunting and camping. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at family gatherings.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva; one step-daughter, Sue (Ed Murphy) Loyd of Burlington; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, June Oge of Peoria, IL; two brothers, James Arthur Stewart of New London and William John Stewart of Mount Pleasant; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl and Jean; one brother, Paul; one step-son, Louis Loyd; and one grandson, Louis Loyd.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
Visitation will be from noon until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends following a 5:00 PM full military honors rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard until 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.
