Bonnie "Jeanne" Elizabeth Callaway, 85, formerly a Burlington resident died at 4:50 AM Saturday, May 6, 2017, in Belton, Missouri.
Born July 10, 1931, in Burlington, she was the daughter of William and Bernice Simms Daugherty. On February 12, 1949, she married Robert Roland Callaway in Burlington Iowa. He died on June 17, 2016.
Jeanne was a longtime member of the EC Blackmar Chapter #306 of the Eastern Star serving as Worthy Matron, and a longtime member of Daughters of the Nile, serving as Queen. She enjoyed going to garage sales and auctions and collecting antique glassware. She liked to go fishing with her husband, Bob and eat at new restaurants all over the United States. She worked as a Sales Associate in Burlington for many years and as a construction receptionist in several different states while traveling with Bob. After retiring, she loved working as a volunteer for Great River Medical Center while living in Burlington. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Burlington and had many wonderful friends there. Her favorite song was "I will always love you".
And Mom, "We will always love you".
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki (Michael) Swore of Cedar Rapids Iowa and Pam (Clint) Delwisch of Loveland, Colorado; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; three step great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Joanne (Steve) Boyle of Burlington Iowa; and one brother, Jack (Edith) Daugherty of Argyle, Iowa.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
The Graveside Committal Service for Mrs. Jeanne Callaway will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery with Chaplain Randy Gearhart officiating.
