Rita A. Rogerson, 83, of West Burlington, died at 1:22 PM Monday, April 3, 2017, at the Great River Klein Center.

Born July 26, 1933, in Seattle, WA, she was the daughter of Edward and Clara Belle King Bugden. On January 5, 1951, she married George William Rogerson in Ketchikan, AK. 

Rita was employed by Prall Insurance for many years.

She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church; and she was a member of the Alter Guild at the church. She was a social butterfly. She enjoyed spending her time playing cards, dancing, but most of all, being with her large family.

Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Janice Creighton, Kimberly (Jerry) Glasgow, Beth (Steve) Reynolds all of Burlington, and Amy (Gary) McClure of Clarksville, TN; four sons, Rusty (Cindy) Rogerson of Coralville, David (Debra) Rogerson of Dallas, TX, George Jr. (Julie) Rogerson of Burlington, and Matthew (Dawn) Rogerson of West Burlington; 15 grandchildren, Melissa (Jason), Ryan, Tad (Nikki), Erin (Anthony), Sarah (Ryan), Jacob (Meagan), Cody (Cynthia), Samantha, Hattie, Vera, Whitney (Aaron), Brady (Roxann), Alex (Kelley), Morgan, and Reagan, 16 great-grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Freda Moring; one brother, Raymond Bugden; and one great-granddaughter, Maggie Amelia.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home.

The funeral service for Rita will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 7, 2017, at Christ Episcopal Church with Father Carl Mann officiating.  A time of food and fellowship will be held in the Parrish Hall immediately following the service. Burial will be in Eldon Cemetery at 2:30 PM.  

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Christ Episcopal Church.
