Raymond Francis Eibes, 97, of Omaha and formerly of Burlington, died at 12:15 AM Sunday, February 19, 2017, at the Bickford of Omaha in Omaha, Neb.

Born January 3, 1920, in Kingston, IA, he was the son of Joseph and Clementine Panther Eibes. On August 27, 1941, he married Mary Jane Brust in Burlington, IA. She died on November 1, 2005.

Raymond was a welder and sheet metal worker for Murray Iron Works for 42 years.

He was a member of SS. Mary & Patrick Catholic Church.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II.

Raymond enjoyed hunting, gardening and spending time with his family.

Survivors include two sons, Mark (Jeanne) Eibes of Carter Lake, IA and Tim (Kathy) Eibes of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, Justin Eibes, Elissa (Eric) Blabac, Joe Eibes and Amanda (Matt) Meyer and four great-grandchildren, Anthony (AJ) Eibes, Annie Eibes, Alex Blabac and Brenley Meyer.

Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Ferdinand, John, William, Edward and Paul Eibes; five sisters, Amelia Eibes, Esther McDorman, Lucy Crow, Mabel Helscher, and Wilma Erbland.

Cremation has been accorded.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, March 11, 2017 at SS. Mary & Patrick Catholic Church.

The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Mr. Eibes will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 11, 2017, at SS. Mary & Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington with Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz as the Celebrant.  Music will be provided by the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir.  Full military honors will be rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  A time of food and fellowship will be held at SS. Mary & Patrick Parish Center following the burial.
