Jim K. Manley

Jim K. Manley, 75, of Burlington, died at 10:20 AM Thursday, March 9, 2017, at his home.

Born July 10, 1941, in Fairfield, he was the son of Harold Herman and Carrie Goemaat Manley. In June of 1964, he married Linda L. Campbell at Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield.

He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1959. 

He was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam War.

Jim previously worked for Arledge Transfer and then work at CF as a truck driver for the last 10 years.

Jim was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and enjoyed Western books and movies, "tinkerin" on various things and projects, and he loved his truck and his old mercury, but most of all, Jim enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Braiden M. Manley of West Burlington and Michael L. (JoAnne) Manley of Mediapolis; and four grandchildren, Cody, Abby, Melody and KaryAnne Manley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.

The memorial service for Mr. Manley will be 2:00 PM Monday, March 13, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with full military honors rendered by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard.  Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
