Francis David "Dave" Krow, 67, of Gulfport, died at 12:47 PM Saturday, March 18, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City.

Born November 25, 1949, in Biggsville, IL he was the son of Harold Lester and Louise May Baughman Krow.

He worked in maintenance in the apartment industry in the Dallas, Texas area.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from April 3, 1967 to April 30, 1971. He served earning the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Meritorious Unit Citation, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He was of Protestant faith.  He enjoyed fishing, western movies, cold refreshments, playing cards, horses, and caring for people.  The 4th of July fish fry was his favorite event each year.    

Survivors include one son, John David (Heather) Krow of Dubuque; four grandchildren, Joshua (Kayla Eissa) Krow of Saint Peter, MO, Jared Krow, Jack Krow, and Janae (Connor Schmitt) Krow all of Dubuque, IA; four sisters, Karen Krow of Gulfport, IL, Linda (James) McClintic of Biggsville, IL, Cindy (Don) McAlpine of Mediapolis, Debbie (Ron Stills) Krow of Burlington; three brothers, Daniel (Carol) Krow of Belen, NM, Robert (Diane) Krow of Burlington, and Terry (Julie) Krow of Larkspur, CO; 17 nieces & nephews; 19 great nieces & nephews; and 13 great-great nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his soulmate, Lynn Jeffery.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM Thursday, March 23 at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home, 3940 Division Street.

The Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Krow will be 2:30 PM Thursday, March 23, at Keokuk National Cemetery with Rev. Dean Graber officiating.  Full military honors will be rendered.

A memorial has been established for his grandchildren's education.
