Marjorie Mae Timmerman, 91, of Sperry, Iowa, died at Great River Hospice House, West Burlington, Iowa on Monday afternoon, May 27, 2013.
Born on February 26, 1922 in LeClaire, Iowa, she was the daughter of John S. and Amanda A. Seibel Hoffstetter. She married David O. Timmerman on August 4, 1956 in Iowa City, Iowa. He died on March 3, 1995.
Marjorie was a homemaker. Marjorie worked at Maytag Company in Newton, Iowa, for 15 years and Oscar Mayer in Davenport, Iowa, for 15 years. She was a member of Masonic (Eastern Star) Trinity Chapter 541.She loved to garden, solve crossword puzzles, cook and take care of her family. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mediapolis, Iowa.
She is survived by two sons, John R. (Becky) Townsend of Pleasant View, Utah and David O. Timmerman Jr. of Sperry, Iowa; one daughter, Lynn A. (Paul) Eckhart of Gladstone, Illinois; two granddaughters, Adrien A. Townsend of Ivans, Utah and Kristina L. Walljasper of Morning Sun, Iowa; one grandson, Heath D. (Amy) Timmerman of Sperry, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Blake Timmerman; two sisters, Genevieve Valentine and Violet Smith, both of Bettendorf, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; three brothers, William, John and James; two sisters, Katherine Hasseler and Leona Biederwell; one grandson, Jared John; and two granddaughters, Maren Kjerstine and Andrea Townsend.
Funeral services for Marjorie Mae Timmerman will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Prugh’s Chapel, Burlington, Iowa. Pastor Jerleen Schlesser will officiate. Interment will be in Edwards Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in Prugh’s Chapel. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice House.
