Ron Steward, 61, of Burlington, died at 7:31 AM Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at his home in Burlington surrounded by his loving family.
Born December 28, 1955, in Burlington, he was the son of Tony Lee and Betty Ann Dressler Steward. On March 5, 1988, he married Lori Kay Walsh in Middletown.
He worked at Coppes Pest Management for 29 years.
He graduated from Burlington High School in 1974.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Burlington Aerie #150. He enjoyed playing bass in multiple bands over the years including The Walker Brothers. He liked hunting, spending time over the grill, and playing with his dog, Addie. Most of all he loved to spend time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Lori; one son, Josh (Amy) Sheff of St. Charles, MO; two daughters, Brianne (Jeremy) Johnson of Iowa City, Sarah (Trail) Kelly of Denmark; three grandchildren, Tailor Vaughan, Camden Kelly, Cayle Kelly; two brothers, Dave (Kara) Steward and Steve (Nomi) Steward both of Burlington; two sisters, Rebecca Fenton of Danville, and Carolyn (Kenny) Van Order of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The memorial service for Mr. Steward will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Hess officiating.
Memorials have been established to the Great River Hospice and the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
