Maxine Ellen "Rosie" Cornick, 87, of West Burlington, died at 4:30 AM Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born May 22, 1929, in Wapello, she was the daughter of Job and Grace Hardman Keltner. On December 24, 1958, she married Ebb Duane Cornick in Fairfield.
Rosie worked at Sylvania for 11 years, then worked ten years as an in home daycare provider. She retired from being a certified nursing assistant after 37 years of devoted service.
She was a 1946 graduate of Grandview High School.
She was a member of West Burlington United Methodist Church. Rosie was a Cardinal's, Burlington Bee, and SCC Blackhawks fan. She loved her kids and grandkids, and enjoyed to play sports and cards.
Survivors include one son, Marty J. Cornick of West Burlington; one daughter, Christy Sue (Barry) Runyon of West Des Moines; three grandchildren, Cody Runyon, Kyle (Katy) Runyon, and Dusti Petersen; one great grandchild, Ke'Lyn Petersen and one on the way, two brothers, Carl Henry Keltner of Dunedin, FL, Job Keltner, Jr. of Burlington; one sister, Dorothy L. Webb of Wapello, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Donold, Harlan, Clarence and one sister Jolene Pogemiller.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
The memorial luncheon for Ms. Cornick will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 6, 2017, will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
