Kathryn Marie Trosen, 85, of Burlington, died at 5:15 PM Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Born June 9, 1932, in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of James Joseph and Kathryn Mary Crowley Gately. On July 3, 1958, she married Fred R. Trosen in Bath, Maine. He died February 18, 1999.
Kathryn worked in Boston for the Metropolitan Transit Authority and then worked for Curley Printing in Burlington.
She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. She was an avid reader, a Big Sister Program Mentor with the community schools, traveling, bowling league, and donated to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and Boys Town. She enjoyed attending Civic Music and the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include four sons, James F. Trosen of San Diego, CA, Michael P. (Kathryn) Trosen of Pensacola, FL, Patrick S. (Teresa) Trosen & Frederick P. Trosen both of Burlington; one daughter, Kathryn M. (Bruce) Halter of Bettendorf; nine grandchildren; & three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Margaret Heavey.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
The memorial service for Mrs. Trosen will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Very Rev. Father Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
