Eloise L. "Mickey" Kuhlemeier, 89, of Burlington, died at 5:25 PM Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.
Born May 28, 1928, in Bloomfield, IA, she was the daughter of Clifford J. and Marie Wilson Rominger. She married Gerald L. Fry on September 9, 1951. He died in June of 1968. On October 3, 1992, she married Harry F. Kuhlemeier in Burlington. He died on November 20, 2002.
Mrs. Kuhlemeier graduated from Bloomfield High School and worked for thirty-one years for Mason-Hanger-Silas Mason Co. Inc. in Burlington. She retired in June, 1992 as Editor/Publisher of their newspaper. She also sold Real Estate for Shawgo Realty.
She enjoyed people and dogs, playing golf, cards, reading, music, and dancing. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Methodist Woman’s Club, a past president of Chapter NH, PEO, a past president of the What-So Ever Chapter of King’s Daughters & Sons, a member of Federated Women’s Club, Red Hats and several bridge clubs.
Survivors include two sons, Roger L. (Cynthia) Fry of Dallas Center, IA, & Robert A. (Melanie) Fry of Jefferson, IA; one step-daughter, Lounell (David) Grinnell of Durham, NC; one step-son, Russell (Annette) Kuhlemeier of Burlington; two granddaughters, Kate (Tim) Jennett of Creston, IA, & Megan (Adam) Webb of Houston, TX; one step-granddaughter, Madison Moore of Jefferson, IA; two step-granddaughters of North Carolina; one great-grandson, Henry Jennett of Creston, IA; two step-great-grandsons of North Carolina; one brother, Ron (Barbara) Rominger of Fairfield, IA; and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands and her parents.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Kuhlemeier will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Reverend Melisa Bracht-Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials can be given in support of PEO Chapter NH,What-So Ever Chapter King's Daughters, and the First United Methodist Church.
